Although the class was not aware of this at the start of the project, this typographic exploration was to be turned into a CD cover for a band. The genre of music that I given to explore was Folk.
The cover was designed for Mumford and Sons.

This uni group project was to create a new way showing system for a multi-story, multi-building location in Adelaide. Our group chose the National Wine Centre of Australia on Corner Botanic and Hackney Roads in Adelaide. This location was incredibly complex to sign as the main building access changes depending on what functions are on that day. The final way showing system was created individually – the initial exploring of the building and research in way showing systems was done as a group.
Fisher Jeffries, a local Corporate Law firm in Adelaide have a yearly competition for third year students and the University of South Australia to design their christmas card.
The brief is very open – the main requirements were that it had Fisher Jeffries logo and had enough space for 10 partners to sign the card. There is $2,000 prize money and the winner must also oversee the printing process (as well as keeping within a budget set by Fisher Jeffries.) The winner has not yet been chosen.
My idea was to create a card with a sense of humour. The legal scales of truth and fairness were modified to have a moustache that could easily be removed and worn. The card is tactile and would therefore, cause a lasting memory.

This individual uni project was a ‘free-choice’ project. I chose to make a design for the Footlocker ‘World’s richest colouring in competition’. Each of these designs were inspired by childhood. From foods to games to clothing. The final design the the rainbow paddle pop inspired design a the end of this post.
